REMOTE RADIO CONTROL SYSTEM (RRCS)

The NBP Remote Radio Control System (RRCS) provides remote control of airport visual aid lighting systems. The unit is capable of controlling the following five visual aid lighting systems:
  • Medium Intensity Approach Lighting System with Runway Alignment Indicator Lights (MALS/MALSR)
  • Omni directional Approach Lighting System (ODALS)
  • Runway End Identifier Lights (REIL)
  • Visual Approach Slope Indicator (VASI)
  • Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI)
The system consists of one to three Switch Assembly Cabinets, an Encoder, a Transmitter & Antenna, a Receiver & Antenna and a Decoder.
